After watching it, leave your opinion about the 5 rules mentioned in the video. Would something like this be possible in your country?

  1. I think this is a very interesting initiative to improve teenagers' quality of life. I strongly believe that if teenagers had other alternatives to spend their time, they wuouldn't waste their time drinking and having drugs. Of course, we need to change our values and part of our culture, and here the goverment plays an important role, promoting and supporting healthy and productive ways to have fun. Considering the politicians that have been ruling our country, I think this is the most challenging part to reach changes like this.

  3. I wish it could be possible in Spain as well, but in my opinion it is not. We have a really different culture. For example it is not unusual for kids to have his/her first cigarette or some wine when they take the first communion. Others European parents, would not believe it, but to their absolutely astonishment are Spanish parents who allowed it. I think this is slowly changing nowadays.

I´m not sure if this model could be applied in Spain.
The parent´s work schedule would be a handicap. Most of the parents in Spain can´t get at home before 7 or 8 pm.
Parents in Iceland are able to be with their families at 5:30 and spend the rest of the day with their children (family conciliation exists).
Also it would be very important that the Government gets involved in such situation as well as the parents.
And if in Spain we can´t do exactly the same pattern due to our social-economic and cultural model, at least every family could aid in some way by encouraging sports to their children and of course the Government building more sport centers and easing the acces and disposal to more people.

  5. I think once again Iceland teach us how to manage public problems, and in my opinion this is one of the most important as teenagers are our futur. I don't think Spain would be able to applied such a good policy. There would be too many things we would have to change before (work schedules, priorities, etc)

  6. The creation of this social compromise, that join all the interested parts, with the expectation of a global profit seems a fairy tale in Spain. Nowadays parents could not take such a big compromise, politics can't think much longer than the next elections, don't have a public service spirit, and all the society have teach our children that they only have rights, not obligations. With this landscape, only a radical change in all concerned parts can make possible that kind of change.

  7. In my opinion , that I am 16 years old. I think that it is impossible to happen this in Spain due to the following reasons, if a child wants to consume drugs will consume them, despite he/she has to be at home by 10p.m, despite he spends a lot of time with his family, despite any of the 5 rules which have been established in Iceland, just because they spend lot of time without any vigilance of their parents and doing what they want to.

  8. I think that these 5 rules to keep teenagers away from drugs and alcohol are pretty sensible and efficient as the results show. Personally I believe that we could introduce these rules in Spain but no one without difficulties, mainly because we get involve to a lesser exent in that "community feeling" than other countries do, for example, parents patrolling the streets or signing a pledge, we prefer to let politicians apply their policies alone, and sometimes it isn't enough. Anyway, we should try it out, it really worth it!

  9. In my opinion this is an awesome way to improve the young people behavior but impossible to apply in Spain because we are far from the edication level needed to accept a warning from an unkown person, neither young and mature spanish people are bad tempered.

  11. As far as I concert this package of measures should also be followed for adults because teenagers follow roles of them
